How Your Newsletter Can Help You Rule The Media Landscape
👋 Welcome
There are many opportunities and distractions for newsletter creators. This issue is dedicated to why it’s important that our newsletters remain central to our focus and business plans as a foundation for our growth. This week’s content focuses on why now is the best time to start your newsletter and new evidence as to why email remains the undisputed champion of customer conversion. There is also some interesting inspiration for how your newsletter can influence other media formats for your audience, such as video and books.
This is a message I take to heart this month, as I’ve only published 2 issues of Newsletter Business this month after six straight months without missing a weekly issue. I took the Labor Day holiday off and last week was preparing to host the world’s largest healthcare travel conference in Las Vegas this week, which complements 3 of the newsletters that I am responsible for publishing. This event brings in seven figures of revenue and so deserves that focus, but I am happy to be back to publishing Newsletter Business for my fellow creators and operators this week.
I'm pleased to welcome new sponsor Growth School and thank them for their support in keeping this newsletter free. Growth School wants to make you part of the top 1% in your field by exposing you to the experts who are already there, and they are presently offering a great free AI bootcamp for founders as you will see below!
Please reply with thoughts on this week’s issue or reach out to @NewsletterBus on X/Twitter or connect/follow on LinkedIn.
Enjoy and see you next issue!

Subscriber Management For Daily vs. Weekly Newsletters: Every newsletter wants engaged subscribers, but the tactics for tracking and acting on that engagement can vary based on publishing cycle. Newsletter creator Daniel Roman defines engagement for his daily newsletter as anyone who doesn’t open within a 30 day period. That’s 30 chances to engage for a daily newsletter subscriber, but would be only 4 chances to engage for a weekly newsletter subscriber and so tactics might be different for a weekly newsletter. Here’s how he does it with automation… Read
