More Proof That Your Newsletter Is A Monetizable Asset

Hey there đź‘‹,

A month has passed since the last issue of this weekly newsletter - that won’t become a habit, but it did happen this time for a very good reason: The Newsletter Business has been acquired!

I sold the whole business (including the products) as I've become the editorial lead for a crypto media company called The Nifty. I'm now running their newsletter The Daily Bone to grow it into the biggest in the crypto space. And yes, it's on beehiiv of course.

The new owner of The Newsletter Business is Fred Kauber, CEO of Digiventures Media Group. Fred has had many adventures in the newsletter and email marketing arena over more than 30 years as a CEO, CTO, CIO, CPO and CMO; here are some highlights of his experience in our industry:

  • Architected IBM’s first Internet email gateway in the early 1990s

  • As CTO of Bigfoot Interactive, built a newsletter and email marketing platform which was sold for $120 million in 2005 to Epsilon

  • Currently serves as Chairman of the world’s largest online community of travel healthcare professionals, where he publishes a newsletter to an audience of more than 100,000 subscribers

  • Active angel / growth-stage investor and board member in a portfolio of companies, including beehiiv

You will hear directly from Fred next week regarding his plans for The Newsletter Business, but until then know that our newsletter is in very good hands. Fred wrote today’s issue and will consistently provide you with the roundup of insights and resources you’ve come to expect, plus introduce some new ideas intended to take this newsletter - and yours - to the next level!

Please note that the From Name for next week’s newsletter will be “Newsletter Business”, so watch your inboxes Monday morning.

Cheers!

Richard Patey
